1960 GIBSON EH-500 SKYLARK LAP STEEL - KORINA!

Gibson Skylark EH-500 Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar (1960), serial #0 0355, natural lacquer finish, korina wood body.

The African Black Limba construction, marketed by Gibson as "Korina," is from the same stash the 1950s Flying V and Explorer were built from. 

This Skylark is a pro grade lap steel guitar that plays and sounds amazing!

Equipped with a Melody Maker pickup, nickel-plated control plate and the same hand-rest/bridge cover used on some pre-war lap steels. 

A very cool feature is the gold raised plastic headstock logo, an unusual feature shared most notably with the original Flying V! The abstract shaped body has a two-level sculpted ledge around the edge and black gold printed fingerboard. 

This 1960 Gibson EH-500 Skylark is in excellent vintage cosmetic condition and is set up in perfect playing order. All original throughout! The original single line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines function smoothly with the original black tuner buttons. The electronics function without issue and the original, wide melody maker single coil pickup sounds fantastic. The Gibson peghead badge is in great shape with no cracks and this example features a black ink stamped serial number. The original case is in excellent condition as well with all three latches working, an intact handle and a vibrant red interior. This is a fantastic example that would be perfectly suited for any vintage instrument collection or any lap steel enthusiast.
