Product Description

Rare 1940 Gretsch Synchromatic 300

This is a very rare guitar and is the 17" version of the "super" Synchromatic 400.

This guitar is in excellent condition and plays and sounds superb. The Dearmond Rhythm Chief pickup is wired for volume and tone and sounds really sweet. These pickups alone sell for 500-1000.00!

The case is a 50's Gretsch archtop case that fits perfectly and is in excellent condition.

Here is what I know about the guitar...

The bridge and the tailpiece are brand new authentic Gretsch parts. There have been some binding repairs. The work is good and looks old. Nothing that would jump out at first glance but I'm disclosing all I see in the guitar. The finish Seems to be partially redone. The sides look like the original finish but it's hard to tell. Defiantly look like the top and neck were refinished, a long time ago. The pickgaurd has been painted at some point.
There is a finish check going from one of the cat eye points almost to the edge of the body.

The guitar is set up with thomastik flat wounds and the action is low. The neck is small and extremely easy to play.

I cannot find another one of these for sale anywhere!
